This complete British National beehive comes fully assembled and stocked with a live colony — perfect for beginner beekeepers ready to start straight away. National hives are ideal for new starters due to their single-walled design and long frame lugs, which make inspections easier and more secure.

This hive is specially configured for beginners and includes:

• Dummy boards to help manage bee space
• Plastic frame spacers for proper frame alignment
• A wooden queen excluder with correct bee spacing
• A feeding eke that also doubles as a shallow honey super

The deep brood box comes pre-filled with a healthy, established colony from our own Surrey apiary — including a mated queen, brood in all stages, and worker bees.

You can choose between a traditional gabled roof or a flat roof at checkout to suit your setup and style.

All our hives are handmade in our workshop from British Western Red Cedar, known for its durability and bee-friendly properties.

Every hive purchase includes unlimited support from our experienced beekeeper, with over 50 years in hive-making and beekeeping.

The hive will be sealed and safe for collection or transport. Only the floor and brood box contain bees, making it compact, stable, and ready to place in your apiary.
