This complete British National beehive comes fully assembled and includes a 5-frame nucleus of live honey bees — ideal for beginners who want to start small and let their colony grow naturally.

The hive is specifically designed for ease of use by first-time beekeepers, and includes:

• Dummy boards for flexible space management
• Plastic frame spacers for easy alignment
• A wooden queen excluder with accurate bee space
• A feeding eke that doubles as a shallow super

The included nucleus colony is raised in our own Surrey apiary, and contains 5 British National frames with:

• A mated, laying queen
• Brood in all stages (eggs, larvae, capped brood)
• Worker bees, pollen, and honey stores

This setup gives the colony room to expand into the full brood box over the season, with the potential to develop into a strong honey-producing hive.

You can select a gabled or flat roof at checkout to suit your preference.

Our hives are handmade from British Western Red Cedar, known for its natural durability and insulation.

Includes beekeeping support from our experienced beekeeper, with over 50 years of hands-on experience in both hive crafting and bee care.

The bees are provided in the brood box, securely sealed and safe for collection.
