🐝 5-Frame British National Bee Nucleus Colony (Nuc)

Our strong, home-raised 5-frame nucs are perfect for new or experienced beekeepers starting or expanding a colony. Supplied in British National deep frames with plastic spacers for easier handling and frame spacing, especially helpful for beginners.

Each nucleus includes:

• A mated and marked queen
• Bees across all life stages
  (eggs, open larvae, sealed brood)
• Frames of brood, pollen, and honey stores
• Housed in a ventilated, disposable travel nuc box
• A dummy board included as standard for safer inspections and improved ventilation during transport

🗓️ Season-Dependent Supply

• Overwintered nucs: available from April
  Raised the previous summer and overwintered with care – ideal for early-season starts
• Spring nucs: available from June
  Freshly raised queens and bees, strong and ready to build

These nucs are suitable for standard National and WBC brood boxes.

✅ What Makes Our Nucs Unique:

• Supplied with a dummy board:
  Each nuc includes a dummy board as standard. This allows the first frame to be safely removed with minimal disruption to the bees and improves ventilation during transport.
• Double-checked queen confirmation:
  Every nuc is inspected by two beekeepers during transfer to the travel box to ensure the queen is present, healthy, and safe.

🌱 Forage-Rich Environment
Our bees are raised in a healthy, diverse landscape of wildflower meadows, blackberry briars, fruit trees, and flowering shrubs — supporting both wild pollinators and our colonies.

Please note:
Nucs must be paid for in full at the time of order. Unlike some suppliers, we do not offer a deposit system.
Orders placed in advance will be scheduled for collection during the appropriate release window — typically April for overwintered nucs and June for spring nucs.

Collection is first-come, first-served within those periods, and we’ll contact you to arrange a pickup date.

Your nuc will be securely packed for safe transport at the time of collection.
