One Day Intermediate Beekeeping Course - Location Surrey /Kent Border

Location: Hanging Wood Apiary, Woldingham, Surrey
Group size: Maximum 7 attendees

Times: Arrive 9:15am for a 9:30am start until 4:30pm

This one-day course is designed for novice beekeepers who already understand the basics and are ready to build on their knowledge.

✅ Before Booking, You Should:

• Be confident identifying worker, drone, and queen bees
• Understand bee lifecycle and colony needs
• Have experience handling bees
• Be able to identify eggs, larvae, sealed brood, queen cells, pollen, and honey

🧑‍🏫 Instructor:

Lawrence Homewood — With 50 years of experience, Lawrence will guide you through more advanced colony management techniques using live demonstrations and practical advice.

🐝 Course Outline:

• Performing simple hive splits
• Rejoining hives successfully
• Managing laying worker hives
• Queenless hives: brood frame method & queen introduction
• Swarm collection and hive rehoming
• Understanding and managing queen cells
• Artificial swarming techniques
• Identifying and addressing common pests and diseases

Course bookings are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend your booked course date, you may transfer your place to another attendee or request to reschedule to an alternative course date, subject to availability.

Requests to change course dates must be made at least 14 days before the course date.

Each booking may only be rescheduled once. Any further date changes will require a new booking and payment in full.

We are unable to accommodate date changes requested within 14 days of the course date.
